A CHARMING WEDDING IN MOROCCO : TRADITIONS , COLORS AND CULTURE

Today, I want to share with you a special wedding that I had the privilege of photographing in Morocco.

This celebration was a true fusion of cultures and traditions, filled with vibrant colors and emotional moments that captured the essence of the couple’s love and union.

The bride, of Franco-Moroccan descent, and the French groom, both residing in London, decided that Morocco would be the perfect place to celebrate their union. Inspired by the bride’s cultural roots and their desire to create an event full of color and joy, they chose Marrakech as the setting for their dream wedding.

From the very beginning, the couple sought to incorporate authentic and traditional elements into their celebration. On the first day, they added a Berber touch to the event, with a color palette inspired by the terracotta lands of southern Morocco. This choice brought a warm and welcoming atmosphere, enveloping the guests in the rich local culture.

At the reception, the couple made sure to design their Moroccan attire at a haute couture tailor in Casablanca. The bride wore a magnificent cape, inspired by royal Moroccan capes, while the groom beautifully contrasted with a jacket in a colorful pattern. The elegance and attention to detail were evident in every moment.

On the wedding day, the ceremony took place in the stunning gardens of a Ksar, inspired by the majestic Alhambra in Granada. The floral decoration was carefully chosen to reflect the couple’s energy and happiness, with local flowers such as bougainvillea, jasmine, and Moroccan roses, creating a vibrant and lively environment.

One of the highlights of the celebration was the specially curated cocktail list, inspired by local herbs and spices. From saffron, cinnamon, and rose to rosemary, each drink offered a true emulsion of flavors, providing a unique and authentic experience for the guests.

Instead of the traditional cake-cutting moment, the couple decided to focus on cultural experiences that truly resonated with their story. They chose to offer their guests traditional Moroccan arts, starting with the groom’s impressive entrance on a camel on the first day. They also incorporated the famous Moroccan wedding chair tradition, where all the guests, to the rhythm of drums, wish the couple love and luck. On the second day, the reception was marked by Berber tradition, with Berber women and dancers inviting the guests into the dining hall, creating an unforgettable moment.

Music was another highlight of the evening, with a DJ and local artists who enlivened the party with a perfect mix of French and Moroccan classics. This cultural synergy kept the dance floor full, with guests celebrating into the night.

This wedding was a true reflection of the union between two cultures, of the love and joy shared by the couple and their loved ones. Capturing every moment of this celebration was an enriching and emotional experience. Morocco, with its rich culture and traditions, served as the perfect backdrop for an event that will remain in the memory of all who were present.
